Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

Firstly an apology to anyone that may have been looking forward to my Monday post. We had a public holiday and it makes me smile a little that Noelle forgot to do a post. She said that it felt like Sunday and I confess to say Tuesday was a harsh return to the norm. Off to the city for the monthly committee meeting, a meeting that always leaves me with a migraine. Spent an extra few hours there with some help from Amy at VATT. (my bad. Voice at The Table) I am applying to sit on another committee board. To be continued.

Left after 4pm, realised how tired I was on the way to the train station at Flinders Street. Caught a train to Clifton hill where I normally change to a tram. There where roadworks everywhere! Eventually, a younger guy directed me to a replacement bus stop as there was no one else around and my eyesight did not help me. It was getting cooler and getting towards dusk. (Have I mentioned I can’t see in the dark?) Also lost two of my regular carers today. Sad. I just lost two friends. Eventually, after a bus ride home in peak hour traffic I arrived at my destination safely.
No migraine but can’t really feel my left leg.

Despite my day not going as I had planned, and things being more challenging than I had expected, I still had a better day than a few others.

Today, sending love and respect to a friend Christie who is grieving. You are in my thoughts and to my lovely administrator Noelle. To whom is responsible for the memes we all love, whose day was well above mine on the level of shitty not that I was complaining. On the upside(barely) a parcel is on its way to Noelle today! It’s got a little of this in it.

So, to Christie and Noelle. You both win! Your days sucked more than mine!

Not prepared to navigate the no tram bus after my favourite lunch location to get to acupuncture on the way home my Girl Wednesday and I found a more local place. So, today’s offering, fish and chips. Or as I prefer fush n chups! We had lunch in Fairfield today for convenience.

Cheers

Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

Another week!

Actually, had Tuesday at home this week. Multitasking one-handed like a pro. Very good thing I have both a mobile and a landline as I used both at the same time to catch up on serious admin/organizing & negotiating. Also managed to write some posts ahead of printing and posting to my blog administrator next week.

Cleared up the trays that cover my coffee table and my couch. A calm mid-week lunch in my punchy-stabby day.

Today’s offering is a Bolognaise Arancini with side salad and my medicine.

And this, I don’t know what it’s called, but how could I not? And yes, I’m sharing it!

Cheers,

Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

First I really need everyone to know winter has arrived to Melbourne. Officially a few days away still but have already unpacked my woollens and jackets! Mika is already loving sleeping on the polar fleece blanket but still yet to work out the benefits to being a lap cat. Sadly……….. She has started being less fussy about what she will eat or not. FYI: I got lucky with my fur baby, Mika. She is not food motivated! So, I have worked hard in the last 7 months to put some condition on her.

Also, heard news one of parcels was received in Norfolk, UK. Here’s a link……

https://oscardandelion.wordpress.com/2019/05/23/thank-you-helen/

Yesterday, I went to the cinema! I went to see John Wick Parabellum! Mmmmmmm, Keanu! (Sorry) the consensus might be that I am a little immune to unnecessary violence. My friend would likely count the rounds used (as in bullets) I would count the number of bodies. And I suggested the headcount first.

Should mention the hilarity of accidentally going into the incorrect cinema first. Saw five minutes of the new Rebel Wilson film The Hustle. Definitely need to see that next. I don’t get to the cinema much but when I do it’s totally worth it. I want one of those armchairs, it’s was amazing I nearly fell asleep I was so comfortable, just need a pillow and doona. (It’s like a blanket)

So, because I again have had to reschedule my dinner out with friends, third week in a row, I’ve decided to have some winter stodge for lunch! Today’s offering a Zaffarino Arancini with a side salad & my medicine

And for the very last item on my agenda? I finished Game of Thrones (G.O.T.) on the weekend! No spoilers. But done.

Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

Currently feeling hungover and seedy from the migraine I had yesterday! Why people drink I do not know? To be continued.

Today a shout out to my friend in Texas which is being hit by a tornado. You are in my thoughts. Stay safe.

To my friend in Florida, you know who you are. In Australia, cantaloupe has another name and that is Rockmelon. Not a fan either. Maybe the hubby should eat it outside?

And to my friend in Norfolk, I’m wondering if you have received your parcel? I have not heard from you for a while.

Before I get to today’s lunch offering, I’m hoping you can help a friend to reach his goal? This is also an example of how the NDIS his failing its clients.

With permission, my administrator Noelle who does my blog without charge to me, has a son who at a very young age had a stroke. This led to a diagnosis of cerebral palsy (C.P.) He is now 28 years young; he has never driven a car but loves V8 Supercars. Under his previous funding he had this passion financially paid for. He had day trips and overnight hotel stays paid for so he could go to the races and mingle with the drivers and grid girls. It’s how he produces his blog and website www.williamsperfectride.com The NDIA would  clearly prefer him to stay at home and not follow his passion at tax-payers expense. While V8 Supercars and such is not my thing, helping someone get to do their thing they love, is my thing. Can you please help him? Every little bit helps.

Not doing any spoilers for the final season of GOT. Will binge the whole season on the weekend.

Now, after all of that done, today’s offering is another Ortolani quiche with side salad and my medicine!

Today’s Lunch – Yesterday

Apologies for the delay with my Good Mental Health day post!

Have been in the city the last 2 days. I love the city. Love it! But I need my standard calm but scheduled punchy-stabby day!

Monday, had a migraine kept closing my eyes on the tram home as I was not coping and a smelly junkie sat next to me. I mean, c’mon! Dude! He had the nods, so I couldn’t tell if people were giving me sympathetic looks because a junkie sat beside me or if they thought we were both junkies. A much older lady who looked to have had a long life as a junkie was chatting to him then me also. Kill me! Kill me now! KMKMKMKM.

When I have a migraine on Monday, I find I’ve got nothing to look forward to on Friday and my favourite lunch place and a sense of calm.

Today’s offerings included, Pancetta Quiche with salad, complimentary Macron and my medicine.

Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

Was in the city yesterday and as I got off the train at Flinders Street station the announcement came over the loudspeaker, “Welcome to Flinders Street station, it’s currently 14 degrees in Melbourne.” and my internal commentary replied “Yes, it is!”

I’m considering my full-length pants already, which is my winter option and it also means no pocket! I miss having pockets!

Need some more calm today, to catch up on some writing. and eating so today’s offering is an Ortolani quiche with a side salad and medicine.

I’m also commiserating I didn’t get into a short course I had applied for that would make me eligible to sit on a board. There were 2000 positions that exist in the corporate sector that could have the potential of me taking the next step toward advocating for people with disabilities. Otherwise, I shall have to keep blogging my brains out. Fine! I can do that too.

Also, I know others have more however! I now have 236 followers, still growing and working out how to get more likes and comments/feedback without selling out. Feeling needy but only because I too have needs.

Cheers

Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

Today is a great day. Why is this you may ask? Well, I’m paying three bills today, while I could easily give my lovely assistant Girl-Friday (I have this carer Wednesday’s too more recently) the bills and the pre-prepared envelopes of cash for each bill, I love to have the satisfaction of paying my own bills. I still like to go to the post office to pay my bills rather than do it all online. At least the ones I don’t do online, I pay in person and even better, today I’m sending parcels, Noelle, my lovely administrator of this blog and the bringer of the memes that amuse me no end will have her parcel delivered in time for the weekend up in Sydney and another parcel is destined for someone I haven’t seen or heard from for a while, Oscar Dandelion’s Stephanie who is in Norfolk in the U.K. if you are reading this? Get ready.
I’m also posting a little something-something to my friend in Texas because I can’t help myself.

I’ve otherwise been doing some rearranging at home and trying to clear my desk in the study, which is a never-ending battle. So, if I find things that are destined for elsewhere, I prefer to get them there.  If you are lucky, next week I’ll include a few pictures of my study.

Meanwhile, today for lunch I’m having half a pork schnitzel baguette with a side salad and medicine also a panachocolate! (When I say it I make it sound like a French Nanny! It’s a chocolate croissant.

Today’s Lunch – 24th April 2019

Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

First, a belated Happy Easter.

Last week I had to smash 5 days of ‘Life” into only 4 and as the weekend just gone was Easter it meant public holidays. Yes!!!! I love public holidays! Because it means long lazy weekends of afternoon naps and 3-ish meals a day, cups of tea a plenty and medicine and lots of binging TV. On the flip-side, struggling to do ‘Person’ when the following week resumes.

Monday, I actually got out on hellonwheels to meet my old neighbour Megi, her sister Lucy and their mum. We met for lunch followed by a little scooter around the neighbourhood and a cruise through the supermarket. Once home I set myself up on my balcony to do some writing. Here is my view………

Easter Sunday I had some people over from my floor of the apartment complex. In an effort to not be alone on a weekend people either go to church (hard no!) or spend with family (too busy and too far away) so I invited the people I’ve encountered on my floor. Not everyone but maybe half the apartments. Four people came, one of which was a surprise so that was nice. I had bought a dozen hot cross buns and two of my guests bought stuff so now I’ve got cinnamon donuts and mini chocolate croissants and profiteroles to give away.

So, briefly today my standard punchy/stabby day includes this offering……..

Before another public holiday tomorrow. My body clock is so out of whack right now!

Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

Had a lovely ladies day planned Monday. Plans changed on the day and things went a little sideways at the start and the end.

However, went down to Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula to visit my older sister to deliver her some goodies, and her and her partners belated birthday gifts. She loves her presents! My sister works at the Mornington Peninsula Chocolatier and Creamery. Here are some photos from my lovely ladies’ day.

I had yummy calamari with salad for lunch with medicine. Followed by tiramisu and lemon ice cream! Great combo. Sweet and tart!

So, today’s lunch at my regular haunt, it’s warm today in Melbourne. 30 degrees and in Autumn!
So, chicken salad with turmeric and medicine!

Today’s Lunch

Good Mental Health Day

Just recapping my week so far!

Monday, went to the city. Migraine!

Tuesday, went to the city! Migraine!

Wednesday, have not gone to the city, but because consistency is the key. Migraine!

Migraine

Something I love about Melbourne is when different festivals and sporting events bring tourists and people to the city. The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is currently is in full swing. People, accents everywhere. Even while walking through Degraves Street my Girl Tuesday & I were asked if we were tourists? Hilarious!

Comedey Festival 1

Yesterday, there was a queue down the street on Flinders Lane that even required security! Seriously, apparently a shop was giving away ice cream. I do love ice cream so I get it. Maybe the security was because the queue was three people deep down the footpath half-way down the block. There is a police station right there and the traffic is sometimes unforgiving. Know what I mean? Mmmmmmm, ice cream!

Ice Cream

I also need to mention we should all celebrate the arrival in my apartment of two kitchen appliances that have been funded by the NDIA. I got the funding for the Adriano Zumbo limited edition Food Processor (commonly referred to in our family as an F.P.) and also the Adriano Zumbo Cake Mixer, I plan to christen it on Friday.

Food Processor 1

Today’s lunch is closer to home today due to other commitments and no stabby appointment. Today’s offering is, which I picked up in Fairfield from a great independent supermarket called Cardamom & Wine. Its Spanakopita.
